Calling all teachers of advanced social research methods online

A strand of our Pedagogy of Methodological Learning project is looking at the teaching and learning of advanced social research methods in online spaces. This work, led by Debbie Collins, will illuminate the challenges, demands and processes involved in teaching and learning advanced research methods online. Specifically the research aims to:

  • describe and explain the role(s) that digital technology plays in the teaching and learning of advanced social research methods (ASRM) in online teaching environments;
  • identify examples of where digital technology is being used creatively in teaching and learning in online settings (to overcome challenges);
  • and provide guidance and resources for ASRM teachers that can help them develop ASRM pedagogies that exploit digital technologies in online settings

We are now looking for online advanced methods courses as case studies for our research. If you teach advanced social research methods online and would be interested in participating in our research, or know of a forthcoming online advanced methods course you’d like to recommend to us, please get in touch with Debbie Collins.
